Magazine Advert - Kings of Leon

Font
The font for all of the text matches the colour scheme, it is easily readable as it is clear, bold and all caps. The font style is very digital looking which add to the effect of poster.

The location of the text is key as certain pieces of text need to stand out more than others. King of Leon is the band name and so by placing this at the top of the page by its self makes it much more identifiable. Also the size is essential to making text have more impact, this is clear from the album name and band name being the largest font size.

Effects
There has been various effects used for this magazine advert, firstly there has been a colour filter applied to make the image appear a light green. Secondly the image has been separated into four section and each piece has been placed at a slight shift form the other, this makes the image seem slightly distorted making the viewer have to look several times to fully understand the image. The last effect used on the advert is the second layer applied, this is clear when looking that there has been an image of some kind of bird placed over the top of the original and then made slight translucent to give it a ghost like effect. This superimposed image of a bird over the top of the artist could be used to relate to the album, a specific track, band or could be used a metaphorical meaning.

Image
The image used is a close up of one of the band members, this is a typical magazine advert type of shot as many artist fell it is important to be featured within everything related to their image and music, this is because it helps the artist to connect to their target audience as Star image is seen as very important in the music industry as this help to promote artist and define target audience.
