The band Jupiter one are an American indie rock group. They group was formed in 2003 by founding members Kaoru Ishibashi and Zac Colwell. The groups other members are Mocha, the keyboardist and violinist, drummer Dave Heilman, and bassist Pat "Panda" Dougherty. The band was named after a spaceship in 60’s TV programme Lost in Space. 

Cordless Recordings is a netlabel owned by Warner Music Group. The label was founded in 2005 by Jac Holzman, who also founded Elektra Records and Nonesuch Records.

A net label is a type of record label that uses digital audio formats to distribute its music. Net labels usually promote fee distribution online, often under licenses that encourage work to be shared, artists normally retain copyrights to the music.

Magazine Advert - Kasabian

This magazine advert is by UK indie rock band Kasabain it was released in august 2006 and was the group’s second studio album. The album reached the number 1 spot in the UK Albums charts and to date the album has sold over 1 million copies worldwide, including more than 600,000 in the UK

The band name kasabian is at the forefront of the ad and is place over the top of the artwork, this helps to make the text clear and the main focus of the magazine advert. The band name is wrote in block capitals and placed directly in the middle of the page as this is supposed to be first thing you see when looking at the ad.

The album title is shown below the band name and is in a much more formal font. The album name empire is not very clear as it is written within the image and may be mistaken as part of the artwork. Also the font is not very clear, bold or easy to read.

Black is the main colour used for the font and is used on the more important pieces this is so it stands out more on the white background, whereas the red text is used as it matches the image which includes a lot of red.

The drawing used is supposed to resemble a playing card this is clear from the icons in the corners with the K standing for King and the clover being clubs. The image used is very artist and has a much more formal look to it, this is compared to the bands other album ads which are very generic for a rock band.

Digipack - The Kings of Leon

This is the front cover of the digipak for kings of Leon’s, this image has been used to represent the album and is used in magazine advert for the album.  It is consistent with the colour scheme as the green tint is used throughout the digipak. The band name is located at the top right of the page and the album name is paced in the top left of the page. The font used is a very bright green and has a digital/computerised look to it. It is quite small and it not very eye catching to the viewer.

These are two of the inner panels from the digipak and once again is consistent with the same green tinted colour scheme. The shots taken are close ups of all of the band members shot separately, this is a very generic shot for music artist as it helps to enhance their star image and it keeps them well associated with the music.  

 

This is the back of the digipak it is very limited to what it has on It. It contains the track listing which is shown in the small white and green font. The background is a fade of black and green which is because of the colour scheme used for the album. Logos of record labels and other companies associated with the group and album are featured on the back.
