Romain Gavras

Romain Gavras is a Greek music video director, who is most well known for directing Bad girls by M.I.A which was won two MTV Video Music Awards in 2012 for Best Cinematography and Best Directing. he is known for having a very rough, dark and gritty feel to his music videos which can be seen in M.I.A's born free.

The reason I choose to research into Romain Gavras was because I believe that the music videos he directed were of very high quality, this was due to him be able to make a video which gave of the same feel as the music. whilst the video make not directly relate to the lyrics it is what you would imagine when listening to the songs and that is what I hope to accomplish when making my music video.

His use of camerawork is one of the other main reason why I choose to research him as I think that his use of camerawork is of very good as he achieves a range of shot high quality shots in nearly all of his videos .  I also like the fact he does not focus on the performance of the artist as I feel this is over done in the music industry, is very generic to do for a music video and shows a lack of creativity.
